Closet Remix 1.1.1: plan your week, dress for your day, and keep it all on your phone

Our biggest update yet — a whole-week planner, outfits for the whole day, add a piece by photographing it, and still nothing uploaded anywhere.

Most of what you need is already on the rail at home. 1.1.1 helps you see it.

Closet Remix 1.1.1 is our biggest update yet — and the one that finally makes the app feel the way we always pictured it. It plans your whole week in one place, dresses you for the whole day rather than just the walk to the car, lets you add a piece just by photographing it, and does all of it on your phone, with nothing uploaded anywhere. Here's what's new, and — because people keep asking — a little on how we got here.

First, what Closet Remix is

Closet Remix is a free wardrobe app for iPhone and Android. It helps you wear more of what you already own: you add your clothes, and it builds outfits from them, plans your week, shows you the cost-per-wear and the carbon and water you save by rewearing, and helps you buy less and better. It's built in Doncaster by Fashion Fusion CIC — a community interest company, owned by a mission rather than investors. And it keeps your wardrobe on your device, never on a server.

The idea didn't start as an app

It started as a question. In 2021, during an MA in Digital Fashion at Leeds Arts University, our founder Estelle Pearce — sixteen years in the industry as a pattern cutter and designer — kept circling one problem: could digital technology help the fashion industry make circular products and life cycles? That research became a circular model for how a garment travels from make to wear to share to repair, and then two real things: Fashion Fusion CIC's clothes swaps and repair workshops across South Yorkshire, and, from early 2026, Closet Remix — the "keep it in circulation" step, built.

So 1.1.1 isn't a start-up chasing a trend; it's years of research and community work, turned into something you can hold. More on that in Why I built Closet Remix.

What's new in 1.1.1

Your day, dressed properly

The home screen is rebuilt around your actual day — a Morning, Day and Evening switcher, each with its own occasion — and today's outfit is drawn as a magazine-style flat-lay, the main piece in the middle with the accessories around it. "Choose your vibe" restyles the look in your own aesthetic (all your vibes are free), and "Best match" shows how well a look hangs together with a style-match score (Premium sees the full five-part breakdown). Tell it "Plan this for this evening" and it saves the look without wearing it.

Two Closet Remix screens: the Home screen with today’s outfit laid out as a flat-lay, and the This week planner with an outfit for each day.

A real planner

There's a new Plan tab that holds your calendar, your capsule builder and "plan my looks," all on one Monday-to-Sunday week. Copy a day, quick-add a saved outfit, swap or replace a day's look with undo, and log something you actually wore on a past day. Planning a trip? Plan it from the calendar, get a forecast for each day, pack by bag size, and see your trip outfits on the home screen.

Add a piece just by photographing it

Add Item now reads from the photo on your phone — the garment type, the colour, and whether it's plain or patterned — and can scan a care label or receipt to fill in size, fabric and price, without ever overwriting what you typed. All of that recognition happens on the device; nothing is uploaded.

Smarter, kinder suggestions

The styling reads your colour season, your own style aesthetics and your everyday go-to pieces. It won't put two coats in one look or a sleeveless top under a coat on a cold day, and it adds a layer when the weather wants one. "Show me another" rotates properly now — and, importantly, it no longer counts as a dislike. Your "not for me" colours and your feedback genuinely change what you're shown.

Impact you can feel, and stories you can share

Your Impact Story is now a six-screen, full-screen story, and both it and your My Style Story can be shared as an animated GIF. Soul Style has been rebuilt around a single "My Soul Style" card with a reel of your own pieces in different vibes. The impact graph shows your real wears and milestones, and the share card explains every figure — no mystery numbers.

A wishlist that's also a gift list

Mark a wishlist item as a gift idea for a named person, and share one idea — or the whole list — as a branded picture with photos. Fewer unworn presents, more things people will actually wear.

Still on your phone, and nowhere else

The thing we're proudest of in 1.1.1 is something you'll never see: we removed the last of the unused cloud-sync code. Closet Remix has no account, no upload and no cloud. Your wardrobe, your photos, the colour and category read from each picture — all of it stays on your device. There's nothing of yours on our servers to leak, sell or train on, because it was never ours to hold. That isn't a feature we bolted on; it's the shape of the whole app. We wrote about why in On your phone, and nowhere else.

What's actually doing the work

None of this leans on generic AI. Underneath Closet Remix are seven rule-based styling systems — grounded in published research, with on-device recognition for your photos — that read your wardrobe and make a judgement: today's outfit, planning, wardrobe health, smarter buying, sustainability, travel packing, and learning from what you wear. You can see all seven on the Features page.

A few quick questions

Is Closet Remix free? Yes — free on the App Store and Google Play, with an optional Premium tier for extras like the full style-match breakdown and travel packing. The sustainability decision tree is free for everyone, always.

Does it really keep everything on my phone? Yes. No account, no upload, no cloud. Your wardrobe and photos live on your device; recognition of your photos happens on the device too.

iPhone and Android? Both — free on the App Store and Google Play.

Who makes it? Estelle Pearce, for Closet Remix — a Fashion Fusion CIC project, built in Doncaster. It grew out of her 2021–22 MA Digital Fashion research at Leeds Arts University.

Shaped by the people using it

Every release since launch has been driven by real feedback, not a boardroom roadmap — and 1.1.1 is the biggest proof of that yet. Style smarter, own less, use what you have, love more. It's all here, and it's all on your phone.
