The Before-You-Buy Decision Tree
Stick it inside the wardrobe door. Three honest questions before anything new comes in.
1 · Do you already own something similar?Yes → Wear what you have. Style it three new ways before you decide.
2 · Honestly — how many times will you wear it?Once or twice → Sleep on it 48 hours. Most impulse buys quietly disappear by then.
3 · Could you repair, borrow or find it second-hand?Yes → Try preloved first. Same piece, a fraction of the footprint.
Still a yes to all three? Then it earns its place. Buy it well: check the fabric and care label, look for a repair or return policy, and buy the best version you can keep for years.
The 30-wears testBefore buying, ask: will I wear this at least 30 times? It's the simplest filter there is — and it quietly changes what makes it into the basket.
